FHBA Breakfast Meeting Recap — June 11, 2026

AI Do’s, Don’ts, and Duds: How to Put Guardrails Around AI

The FHBA community gathered for a high‑energy and highly practical session on navigating artificial intelligence in everyday business. Stu Atwater of Atwater Law & IP delivered an engaging, humorous, and eye‑opening presentation that helped members understand how to use AI confidently — and safely — in their organizations.

Stu opened with a memorable analogy, describing AI as a “sweet‑talking genius who knows everything but has no wisdom… and without being hired, is now working in your office.” From there, he broke down the real risks, the common “duds,” and the simple guardrails every business should be putting in place right now.

Members walked away with clear, actionable insights on how to:

  • Protect sensitive information when using AI tools

  • Improve work quality without overspending

  • Avoid common AI pitfalls that lead to errors or liability

  • Integrate AI into workflows in a safe, sustainable way
